Almost nothing on a website is made by the person whose name is on it. This page names what is borrowed.

Every fact below was read from the files this site actually ships, not from memory, so it stays true as long as the files do.

Typefaces

Newsreader sets the reading voice. Designed by Production Type and published under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1. Shipped here as a Latin subset of the variable font.

Karla sets the second voice: labels, metadata and anything that behaves like an instrument reading rather than prose. Designed by Jonny Pinhorn, also under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1, and also subset to Latin.

Thit Sar Shwe Si carries the Burmese pages. Copyright Phoenix Digital Art, designed by Htun Naung. It is the reason the Burmese side of this site reads as handwriting rather than as a system default.

Z01-Umoe002 is the alternative Burmese face behind the readability toggle on Burmese pages, for readers who would rather have something plainer than handwriting. Copyright ZinBo, designed by Zin Bo. U Moe is a trademark of ZinBo.

Architects Daughter supplies the Latin letters that sit inside Burmese handwriting, so a Latin word in a Burmese sentence does not fall back to something unrelated. Copyright 2012 Kimberly Geswein, kimberlygeswein.com.

Software

Hugo builds the site. There is no theme and no framework underneath it.

KaTeX 0.16.22 renders the mathematics, self-hosted rather than loaded from anyone’s network. MIT licence.

Mermaid 11 renders the diagrams, and is the one script loaded from a third party. MIT licence.

GoatCounter counts page views. It sets no cookies, records no personal data and builds no profile of anyone. The dashboard is public: that link is the live figures for this site, not a product page.

Data

Publication metadata and citation counts come from OpenAlex, Crossref, DataCite and PubMed. The “Lately” panels read from AniList, Simkl, Last.fm and Unsplash. None of these endorse anything here; they are simply where the numbers come from.

Institutional marks

The university marks shown on some work pages are the trademarks of those institutions, reproduced to identify where the work was done. They are not covered by this site’s licence, and nothing on this site is endorsed or sponsored by either university. Their provenance is recorded in data/institutions.yml.
